Investing in Bakken Oil Production is Profitable
The major oil producing state in the US is Texas, which is followed by Alaska, California and North Dakota respectively. Bakken oil is the major contributor to the total production capacity of North Dakota and in august 2011 the state’s total oil production posted an average production of 445, 000 barrels every day according to the department in charge of mineral resources in the state, a notable increase from the average production of 344, 000 barrels a day in the year ending December 2010.
In the recent years, Bakken drilling has established itself as a formidable source of oil in the U.S. with most of the drilling and the production process of this kind being based in North Dakota. Other areas that have had this technology put into use include Manitoba, Montana and Saskatchewan.
During the year 2013, Bakken drilling contributed more than ten percent of the total oil production in the U.S. The energy information administration of the U.S. projected that the total oil production in Montana and North Dakota resulting from Bakken drilling would top more than a million barrels a day by December 2013.
